1. Call to order Welcome Land acknowledgement President Linda Lockyer
a. Question for attendees in an effort to support our environment, would an electronic copy of the agenda posted on the website or in the newsletter be useful for attendees of these meetings? Visual consensus of the group via hands up appeared to be positive chart paper no longer needed for agenda
2. Minutes previous from September 2nd, 2023 President Linda Lockyer
a. In an effort to be time sensitive to the History Committee Not being read aloud please see the WBPOA website Thanks to Ray Stittle
3. Financial Report Gary Seagrave
a. Brought printed copies for all to see
b. Slight increase to membership from last year
c. Operating expenses were a down slightly
d. Annually we (WBPOA) have been making donations to the General and Marine Hospital in Midland
e. WBPOA make contributions to the Childrens Bingo as well a lovely card with a big thank you was received from the kids who attended Childrens Bingo this past season
f. Motion to approve John Lapello reviewing the books by Linda Lockyer mover Jeanette Dumais seconder Dana Bradshaw all in favour attendee consensus
g. Motion to approve the budget as presented - by Gary Seagrave mover Linda Lockyer seconder Susan Middleton-Norwood all in favour attendee consensus
4. Election of the Directors Linda Lockyer
a. Intro all current members of the board and the honorary members (3) were mentioned as well as a brief description of their roles
b. Serving in their 2nd Year are: Ray Stittle Debbie Curry Gary Seagrave- Jeanette Dumais
c. For Re-election: Tracey Price Lisa Buglar Linda Lockyer they all continue to stand
d. WBPOA are a group of eight directors we have one vacancy to fill
5. Nominations from the Floor Linda Lockyer
a. Greg Patchell - stood up thank you to Greg Patchell
b. Motion - to move forward with election of the board of directors by Linda Lockyer mover Dana Bradshaw - seconder John Price all in favour attendee consensus
6. Updates:
a. Membership if you are not sure if you have paid for 2024 yet please visit Tracey Proce and Ray Stittle at the membership table after the meeting.
b. Phrap Busters Dana
i. Presented on behalf of his wife 9 volunteers for each dig 20 bags for first dig and 10 bags for second dig 2 digs planned again next year - wait to see the adverts in the WBPOA newsletter
c. 2024 Shoreline Water Testing Jeanette Dumais
i. Summary of testing was reported, and the summary can be viewed via the Fall Newsletter
d. Stop The Build Linda Lockyer
i. We (WBPOA) are not wanting to take a stand on this issue Mayor Evans was here to answer all questions none on that topic were asked of him at that time and therefore the topic appears moot for WBPOA
ii. Ed Newhook disagreed and would like to vote on whether we are in Support of the new admin building
iii. Speaker from the floor not identified voiced her concerns
iv. Linda Lockyer reiterated we are not putting this to a vote and all residents of WBPOA can join the Stop the Build on their choosing
e. Interim Control Bylaw - Greg Patchell
i. Spoke to details of the (ICBL) as is in effect until May 2025 no further extensions will be granted if residents are looking for answers, email the Township of Tiny Planning department for more information
f. Community Safety Dana Bradshaw
i. Spoke to seeing more Standup Paddleboard (SUP) riders with personal floatation devices (PFDs), however still seeing capacity issues with regards to tubers and water skiers. Requirement is a seat for the driver, the spotter, and the tuber/skier.
ii. Pedestrian Safety Deposition to Council awaiting the report back from Council as it was promised for Fall 2024.
