Marine
Toilets
SAVE OUR
ENVIRONMENT WHILE SAVING TONS OF WATER!!!
The Marine
Toilet
We
installed a Domestic Sealand 510 Gravity Marine
Toilet in our cottage to save water usage through
our holding tank and minimize the septage that ends
up on our fields.
At least two of our neighbours
have done the same.
Regular
traditional toilet – uses up to 7 gallons of water
per flush -
Regular new
low flush toilet – uses around 1/5 gallons of water
per flush
Sealand
Marine Toilet – uses .1 of a gallon, approx. one
pint.
You
get 50 flushes on the Marine Toilet versus 1 flush
on an old traditional toilet, and 15 flushes on the
Marine Toilet versus 1 flush on a low flush
toilet!!!
THAT’S AN AMAZING SAVING OF WATER!!!
You
reduce the number of times you have to pump out your
tank, and since prices for pumping are threatening
to go ‘sky high’, this is also good news.
You
don’t have to ‘let it mellow’ EVER, so your bathroom
smells like a spring rose instead of an old Out
House.
STATS
We
bought ours at Home Depot – they ordered it in.
There are other options.
The Sealand 50 is ceramic, like a regular
toilet.

website is for reference only.
There
is no tank of water behind the throne, and no parts
that break regularly.
Marine
toilets cost about $400. for the toilet, and come
with a special 4 bolt floor-flange.
The
manufacturer recommends installing the toilet right
over the holding tank, but with the help of gravity,
our waste moves 15 feet through ABS pipe to the
holding tank.
For this
toilet to work, it must be located near the holding
tank.
Put some extra water through occasionally
or after guests visit.
HELP
KEEP OUR LAKE CLEAN.
CONSIDER INSTALLING A MARINE TOILET.
