September 2014 Update as emailed by Tracey Price to WBPOA members 9/10/2014.
TO ALL PHRAG BUSTERS
We were astounded when over 40 of you showed up yet again to help dig out our invading phragmites.
We are starting to work like a well-oiled army corps - 3 Digs and 150+ Bags!!! It is evident where the Phragmities was cut, from Archer heading North to just South of Lawson Rd.
Thanks to the Prices, the Stittles and the Sutherlands and all our dedicated volunteers, many of you for all three digs.
We have made a big difference this year, removing these invasive reeds before they seeded and beginning the mechanism that will eventually cause their demise. We will begin again next year with a set agenda of dig days, as requested.
Many, many thanks for your support,
Susan Hayden, Jen George and WBPOA
