Woodland Beach Property Owners Association

About Us
Beach 'E'
Its pretty quiet at Woodland Beach these days, except for the geese.  The ice went out, actually it came in, and was scattered in huge chunks of ice on the shore the week of March Break.
The beach is free of litter thanks to the efforts of several full-time residents in the South end.  We will be meeting with township staff to discuss the effectiveness of snow
fencing on several of our pathways.  As always, we appreciate hearing from you.  Happy Spring!
>Update Plan 656
WBPOA has received numerous enquiries about what is transpiring at the north end of our beach (South of Lawson Road).
We are gathering information from various sources and will be communicating to you in our next update.

>Septage Management Meeting #3
WHEN Saturday April 21st 10:00 - Open House 10:30 - 12:00 - Presentation and Discussion
WHERE  Township of Tiny Council Chambers
130 Balm Beach Rd, West,  Perkinsfield
The Township of Tiny is undertaking an Environmental Assessment (EA) to establish the preferred approach
for providing septage and holding tank waste disposal services to the residents of Tiny Township. The Ministry
of the Environment has indicated that a province-wide moratorium on land application of untreated septage
will eventually come into effect.  Consequently the Township is examining alternative solutions for the treatment
and disposal of septage and holding tank waste.

Hello to everyone.  We hope you are enjoying the mild winter this year.  We have had some snow but then it turns mild again and we lose it.
The lake is frozen at the shore for about 150 feet.  We have ice around making walking especially, on the beach a bit of a challenge.  We hope
you find our updates from WBPOA helpful to keep you in the loop.
>Plan 656 Beach Ownership
As reported to you last summer, the township was challenging the legality of Mr Battaglia's title to the south half of the beach area fronting Plan 656.
Court action took place in July, 2011; however the decision was not released until Dec. 23rd. In the decision the Township's application for ownership
was dismissed.  The township is now appealing this decision.  No hearing date has been scheduled for the appeal.

>McMahon Woods Subdivision
The Directors of WBPOA are concerned about a 51 lot subdivision proposed by McMahon Woods Development to be located on the NE corner of
Concession 4 and County Rd 29.  Most of the property lies within an area designated as environmentally sensitive by the Ontario Ministry of
Natural Resources - an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest (ANSI).  This is a heavily wooded area running along the Nipissing Ridge.  Unfortunately,
in the past, a By-law was passed rezoning this area as "Shoreline Residential- Future Development", allowing this proposed plan of subdivision.
Both Simcoe County and Tiny's present Council are attempting to restrict this development to 20 or less lots as allowed in an ANSI designation.  The
matter was heard at an Ontario Municipal Board Pre-hearing on Dec. 13th.  No resolution was achieved so the argument will move to a full Hearing
at a date to be announced.
>New Garbage Tags
The price of garbage tags for waste over the one bag limit will increase from the current $2.00 per tag to $3.00 per tag effective Jan 1st, 2012.
The current yellow county garbage tags will be permitted to be used until April 1st, 2012.  Your new 2012 Simcoe County Calendar should have
arrived at you home.  Spring should see some new additions to our recycling program.
>New OPP False Alarm Policy
Due to the number of false alarms attended to by Southern Georgian Bay OPP, Township of Tiny has enacted a by-law establishing a False Alarm
Policy effective January 1st, 2012.  This policy was established to encourage residents and businesses to make certain their security systems are maintained
and operating properly. Reducing the number of false alarms will result in better use of our policing resources.  Responding to alarms calls uses time that
would be better spent in other areas.
Starting January 1st, 2012
First False Alarm - No Charge
Second              - No Charge - A warning notice sent
Third and all subsequent False Alarms - $200.00 for each false alarm occurrence within an alarm response year (Jan 1st - Dec 31st)
