WHEN TO CONTACT A NW REPRESENTATIVE

>CONTACT OPP FIRST IF THERE IS A CRIME 

>A NW representative should then be contacted to make them aware of a crime in the neighbourhood.   

>If a there is a problem that is not crime related, for example a fallen tree or an open window, a resident can contact a NW representative who in turn can contact the homeowner if their member contact information is on file and up to date.

 

TIME TO CLOSE UP THE COTTAGE

Cottages and seasonal homes are most vulnerable to property crime during fall, winter and spring when they are not being used by property owners.  See attached Protect your Property brochure from Southern Georgian Bay OPP.

 When you close up for the season be sure to arrange for a permanent resident or key holder to check your property and leave your contact information with that person.  If a crime is suspected they should contact Southern Georgian Bay OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
